Russell "Rusty" Hanson passed away at home with his familyat his bedside after a long battle with cancer May
16, 2016. He was Born on March 14,1956 to the late Robert V. Hanson and Lynda Lee Loper Hanson in Springfield, IL. Russell grew up in St Petersburg, FL. He moved to Daytona Beach in 1980. He worked as a Line Service Supervisor atSheltair Aviation for the last 28 years. Russ loved life and was always ready for any adventure. He got his pilot's license at his father's urging and loved flying his Dad's plane. He also loved
to ride motorcycles, Jet Ski, go boating and Scuba Diving. He was a car enthusiast and went to numerous
car shows with his wife. He dreamed of owning his own vintage vehicle and was especially proud of his recent purchase of a 1964 Plymouth Barracuda. The 'Cuda is nostalgic as it reminded him of his Nana's car that he drove when he was a teenager. Russ was very much loved by his family and friends. He was a kind, loving
& gentle man who was one. What A Guy! He was a member of First Baptist Church Daytona Beach and
served in the Missions Ministries. He is survived by his loving wife, Renee Hraban Hanson,brothers Robert "Bobby" Hanson, Jr (Donna), Tommy Hanson (Kathleen), John Hanson, Paul Hanson, sisters Pam Phillips
(Bill), Kathy Carder and Patty Brewer (Dave) and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of a life well lived will be held at First Baptist Church Daytona Beach 118 N. Palmetto Avenue Saturday May 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with a light reception to visit with family following the celebration service. Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made in his honor to First Baptist Church Daytona Beach for Missions or Halifax Humane Society.
